Atrai vs Flexlm License for ClearCase Server 7.1.2 -

i have installed clearcase server , license server along license key administrator.

now need apply license license server can point license server license key adminstrator , licenses.

now question type of license should use?
that is, atria or flexlm?
which 1 right one?
and difference between these 2 type of licenses?

you know if using flexlm licensing, since technote "how switch between atria , flexlm licensing on unix , linux" shows clear naming convention:

copy flexlm_host.template file (located in 1 of following directories) /var/adm/rational/clearcase/config directory

the difference:

  • atria legacy licensing system clearcase.
  • flexlm more recent licensing system, applied all rational products.
if have more clearcase support, flexlm more appropriate.

this thread summarizes advantages of 1 on another:

the primary advantage of flexlm on classic can license exclusively group of users

a single clearcase user should need 1 non-temporary flex/lm license access clearcase.

if using temporary clearcase licenses, use atria licenses avoid issues.
if using permanent licenses, use whatever type want.
