opencv - Stereo rig Calibration using two webcameras with autofocus technology -

disclaimer: apologies large question, take lot of time.

i have stereo setup consisting of 2 webcams these cameras possess auto-focus technology. stereo setup in canonical configuration cameras separated 10 cm distance.

i using stereo_calib.cpp program stereo calibration, provided opencv sample programs.

initially, have captured chessboard images stereo rig way shown in sample cpp stereo images, , tried calibrate setup, stereo rectification either blank or undistorted left , right images tilted 40 degrees.

as case, have captured set of 17 stereo pair chessboard images keeping z distance constant, without rotation, @ point stereo images correctly rectified in process of stereo calibration. working set contains images of chessboard taken stereo setup along program , image of how rectification has been achieved.

later, when trying calibrate stereo setup again (as cameras in stereo setup disturbed), new set of images of chessboard taken stereo rig, program unable rectify stereo images. providing non working set can check images taken stereo setup along images of rectification.

as picture worth thousand words.

you gotta see output images of provided program, let know more in own words.

i trying find new ways of stereo face recognition techniques.

any in regard highly appreciated.

and adding this, need existing techniques kick start experimentation on new ways of face recognition using stereo information.
