we trying intranet site work against 3rd party external id provider (okta) federated our internal ad.

we've managed use ultimate saml parse saml token returned site looking @ other options wif , thinktecture.identitymodel.

i've been trying find sample actually works against our 3rd party idp using mvc 4 / .net 4. documentation have found stuff either wrong of non-existent or extremely complex.

can suggest simple sample works , understandable mere humans?

is saml option available on okta? can't enable ws-federation? or oauth?

there're prebuilt libraries both on .net world (wif , dotnetopenauth). simplest.

on other hand, internal app users on ad only? value of id provider connect external idp (not own).

if users of app on ad, use windows integrated security. simpler.
