sql server 2008 - Getting random error: "The expression On Change you entered..." -

running access 2010 on citrix against sql server 2008r2 backend. users error reading:

the expression on change entered event property setting produced following error: overflow. * expression may not result in name of macro, name of user-defined function, or [event procedure]. * there may have been error evaluating function, event, or macro.

once user gets error during session, continue until logs out of database front end. can relaunch access front end , go whatever was attempting do. on change portion vary in event type (sometimes on click, after update, etc), , happen on different forms, fix exit db in , works fine.

the more learn, more i'm starting believe it's got citrix enviornment we're in, haven't been able pin down.

i've seen suggestions copy form, , start new db , import everything. i've done these , hasn't helped - i.e. random enough don't know if frequency of issues decreased after change.

  • does have additional suggestions of can in access code?
  • does have experience setup , have citrix or sql server tweaks might able pass along? (i don't know if our people listen or try work me on it, it's worth shot.)

i'm frustrated randomness of this, , hate telling users there's nothing can it, @ moment, i'm stumped.

thanks, freeman

edit - additional details...

  • the users running compiled .accde
  • they running common .accde file
  • this still happening few users whom have given own personal copy run

the goto fix random weird stuff happening in citrix disable hooking. hooks injected every process running in citrix session, screwing in access. can configure registry entries exclude access being hooked:
