java - in code, can one download the GPS almanac via wifi/3g and feed it to the GPS on an android phone -


this question has answer here:

does know if can download gps almanac on android phone. not through gps sat's through wifi/3g. , said almanac feed gps bits on phone.

all in code.. (of course).. phone takes time connect , weak signal mitigated almanac. ironically weak signal takes long time data sats.

oh on unrooted phone in app not system.

@chopchop pointed out called assisted gps, , it's not easy thing.

stackoverflow.com/questions/14548707/ requires permissions seem available system apps, no "play" apk.

you might able download almanacs websites out there such official source here http://www.navcen.uscg.gov/?pagename=gpsalmanacs. i'm 100% sure won't able feed gps chip on phone.

what trying called assisted-gps , it's not easy. devices out there implement , companies have put lot of effort , research it. not going able hack way through time in future.
