team explorer - Discussions and email notifications on TFS tasks -


we're new tfs , have tasks set in team explorer. seems history pane right/best place add notes/discussions (although it's different other tools i'm used bugzilla, jira, redmine)?

but how can set interested parties notified of new comments on task, preferably email? we're making go along no prior tfs experience i'd hope experience other tools (the project hasn't used proper issue tracker before) me figure things out seems rather confusing.

if install tfs 2010 power tools (this removed 2012 it's setup in web interface according this link although i've not played in 2012), under team > alerts explorer can add alerts email notifications.

it's pretty simple, can alerts when work items modified, created under path, assigned etc, configured in similar way work item queries it's quite easy setup want.

they can setup users, might want let users setup own custom rules like, logon generic user (such admin user) setup team specific queries, or else might end users complaining getting emails no longer relevent them or need changing, when user set them leaves/moves etc... else you'll hunting round find setup original rules.
